****
Interest : It is a really fun course probably because you have less reading to do :)
the synonym and antonym exercise had special things in , this exercise wasn't timing and you could go back later on questions that you were not sure of. the computer was always asking if you were satisfied of your answers or not .

Difficulty level : This exercise was for students preparation for exams and schools entries , the exercises were increasing during the process and you had the correction at the end and all the definitions needed .

What I learned : compared to the other skill improvements exercises that I did , I can't pretend that i learn a lot but new words , I used a lot my dictionary to look up for unknown words

A really pedagogic exercise

ADJECTIVE , ADVERBS AND CONFUSING WORDS
***
I thought this exercise would be funnier at first but I found it quite long for an exercise that I already worked on . Adverbs are seen at a inferior level but in spite of the fact that this exercise was a revision , some majors ideas were good to reviewed.
The mistake that I was always doing is the double idea such as my most friendliest friend is .. or other similar examples , this can looks stupid , but i did this mistake on my first blog entry .
The level was perfect for me! not too hard but not too easy and fun to follow , you sould suggest this tool to all your students !
my score : 79%

Writing test

Located in the border of Chile and Argentina, Pascua-.Lama is an open pit mining full of gold in silver. A big riche mountain of 4,500 meters of altitude is obviously a priceless project for gold mining extractors who are at the moment, developing an extraction plan. The problem is that the international opinion and the population of Chile are proceeding to pressures by making petitions and manifestations, all dedicated to the Chilean government. These demonstrations from the population are illustrating many problems and according to me, the Chile and the Argentina shouldn’t approve this project .The environmental consequences are the first reasons why they have to refuse it because first ,the project is a high-cost idea with a no respect of the population’s values and their way of living. Plus, the Pascua-Lama extraction would have environmental consequences.

First of all, the Pascua-Lama required a removed of huge glaciers. It looks to me like a really expensive and unreal project, showing a big disrespect to the population For example, in 2000, an appeal was filed with the Chilean Constitutional Court to rule the treaty unconstitutional. Many people living on agriculture are also demanding help from the tribunal because they claimed the lost of many hectares form their propriety. The extraction company never asked their permissions and that clearly shows disrespect. Second, the company, say that the used of chemical products is something they cannot avoid for a good extraction of gold but they forget and essential point. The pollution caused by the product would have irreversible consequences such as the contamination of the water, the ground and the air. The appearance of cancers and other sickness won’t be long to show up.

The Toronto Company in charged of the Pascua-Lama project would create an environmental disaster with is dream realisation. The area located in the border of Chile and Argentina is an arid and dry place. The removed of the glacier would destroy all the chances to find drinkable water in the valley killing at the same time the entire agricultural sector. The company also close it eyes on all a fragile ecosystem, drinkable water is maybe exportable, but animals plans and lives in general are in danger for a contains estimated deposited of 17 millions ounces of gold and 635 million ounces of silver. The native groups would also be forced to extinction.

Barrick Gold says that the project is environmentally friendly considering the water treatment. They also pretended that the project will create 5,500 jobs during the mine's construction period but all I see is a tones of problem for the population and for the environment in the near future. We cannot forget that this environmental zone was initially protected and owned by “l’UNESCO” but they retired the protection in 1994, just before Barrick takes possession of it. . If you do believe in humanity and in good values, you will probably be agreed that it is the biggest mistake Argentine ever did.

mid-term essay writting test

Introduction :

We associated for long time spirituality with religion but it existed since the creation of the humanity. Anthropologists have made some studies and declared that prehistoric man already had spiritual processions. Spirituality is really large at sense meaning but although we all have a different definition of spirituality, we can say that it is closely related to religious belief, faith and transcendent reality. Public schools have banished religion from their institutions and the scientific minds diminish the importance of the spirituality in our society . Considering the fact that numerous people are pretending to be help by spirituality in hard moments , we wanted to take a look at the perception young people had on spirituality and compared it with and older group of persons.

We do believe that spirituality is more present in older people minds because religious education is part of their background. In this present work , I will try in the following paragraphs to present you my method and then the results to conclude with an open discussion about spirituality.

Method and Results:

We survey about 20 persons with a series of questions having multiple choices ,50 percents of them had 40 years old and more and the other group was obviously the younger ones (having 15 10 40 years old). We asked as a first question if spirituality was a part of their life, 60 % of younger people answers was not at all and 40 % of them replied a little bit. The main different with the older group is that 60 % of them answed a little bit, 20 %, not at all and 20 more percents said a lot. . With our survey ,we can easily see that younger people are more open-minded to new spiritual groups and techniques as meditation. One of the most important idea claims by the survey is that 80 percents of young people don’t want to give back a place to spirituality in institutions, compared to only 40 % in the older person’s survey. Overall it is clearly representative of what we thought at the beginning of our survey. We wouldn’t have give precise answers like the survey but we have been forced to realized how the perception of the spirituality from a generation to an other is really different.

Discussion:

Considering the fact that religion is based on spirituality we can say that it is a big part of our heritage. Plus, spirituality is completely indispensable to our society. It gives a sense to the absurdity of life and it is also an emotional support for the persons going through a hard life period. However, I think modernity is killing slowly but surely the rest of spiritual aspects in our society. Some will say that spirituality is evoluating in a way that it becomes less rigid and doctrinal, I’m agree with it but our generation is having a new regard on the world and the ecological problems that we are facing are much more in young people’s preoccupations .
